Default Which ballplayer do you collect?

Via the B/S/T, pickup and other threads I kind of know who collects certain players. I know Johnny is the Chief Bender guy, Rob D has an incredible Nap Lajoie collection, etc...

Most of you know I collect Rube Waddell. I wanted to start a thread where player collectors can state who they collect and maybe share their favorite card(s) or collection and perhaps explain why you collect that particular player.

Here is my Waddell Collection:

http://imageevent.com/vanslykefan/prewar1/rubewaddell

Thanks for taking a look,

Rob

Default Which Ballplayer do I collect ?

If I had to pencil in one player, it would be Hub Perdue. I am a Nashville collector by hobby, but Perdue interests me the most as he grew up, played ball, and is buried where I have spent my entire life... Also, the fact that he played big league ball adds a cool dimension as most everything I collect is minor league (Southern Assoc./League) material.

In last year's March Madness pool, I (by virtue of my brilliance in picking Butler to go to the final game) won a 1926 Yuengling Ice Cream George Uhle card as a third (or fourth) place prize.

That's as good of a reason as any to start a player collection!

I have since added three more.

I really like the way those Waner's look together. If I had to pick one, it would be post-war Brooks Robinson.

Thanks......
and, there is more to be displayed, but it's Thanksgiving Day. So, I'll leave them for another time.

Anyhow, your Chase's are nicer and more numerous....why not show us yours ?

A very Happy Thanksgiving to you, Grant, Jackson, and your Wife.

Ted, thanks, same to you and yours.

And that Chase back collection could take decades to amass. Some of those I have never seen outside of your collection. In fact, you and Jim R. could team up and drive me insane with your Chase backs. I'm green with envy.

I can't compete even remotely on the backs..so here's a few rare Chases instead:

1918 Real Photo Reds Team PC

1910 Nadja Caramels E104 III

Note: this one is the T215-2:

1912-13 Red Cross Tobacco T215-2

Thanks, Clayton. The cards are of my great-grandfather. Now if I could just find a T4 that is not trimmed, a 1912 Zeenut, and a Gilmartin I could complete the set.
