Besides my '17 Almeida contract and '16 game used Marsans bat - my '13 Voskamps Coffee Wilson and '22 Holland Creameries Ogden & Miller are stuck ball & chain.

And yours?

I won't say never, since I learned long ago that there are people that will pay what you think is a stupid price for something you have, but here are the cards least likely to leave my collection

Anything else is my collection I am willing to part with in trade, some with very strict guidelines for what is involved in the trade, like my e107 being traded for another e107

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home, I would be arrested. So, I go to baseball games and fit right in.

Don't have as many keepers as I once did, but this is a card I cherish and will hopefully keep forever.

I generally share Jay's sentiments that nearly everything can be had for a rediculous price. These are my least likely to go anywhere items...

The following are my sentimental, not for any price keepers...

My Dad purchased the Martin and Maris for me when only 11, which really got me started in older cards. He also got me a T206 Titus, but still don't remember what ever happened to that card, but I get sentimental every time I see one. The Kirkwood was the first baseball card I ever owned- I found it in a trunk of my brothers stuff.

The Cobb was a gift from my wife when we were both in grad school...still don't know where she got the money (as beat as it is) to pay for it as we both subsisted on canned tuna and potatoes for two years. The Young was purchased using silver dollars (I saved about twenty to give to my children someday) that were given to me every month by my grandfather. When he passed away I had a couple hundred of them that I had managed not to spend.

The first pack of cards I ever opened yielded my favorite player on my favorite team. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Later I got "Pancake" to sign it.

My treasure:

You can see how much I looked at it as a 7 year old.

This one I go back and forth on, but cant quite ever bring myself to sell it:

The Chance-Red was the first pre-war card I purchased. Got it for $22 (with good reason) back in 2001.

I may upgrade the Merkle & Leach, but will always own one as they are just fantastic looking cards.

If I ever find one, a Zeenut Halla will stay for good too.

If someone offered me life-changing money for a card or for my collection I would do it. Probably the last card I'd part with is my cousin Ray's E211 card. It is the only one I've ever seen, but if someone just had to have it and had enough zeros after the digit in their offer, I would sell it too. I know, I know, now that we've established what I am we are merely negotiating price.

wish i could post a pic...but, im at work...

tough to say. i could probably not part with the following four cards:

dave justice 1991 upperdeck (my first ever baseball card)
willie mays 1951 bowman (just love the card...and willie was a pretty good player)
hank aaron 1954 topps (big aaron fan...and the card looks cool)
t206 red portrait cobb (card that hooked me into pre war and t206's)

sorry for the post war (and the 1990 card!)...

would love to hear why the cards you choose are ones you wouldnt want to part with.

I'll add one more as soon as I get it. It is a card from the Nagy Collection.

It's hard to say that any given card will never leave my collection simply because I may decide to upgrade, but of my entire collection, it is fairly safe to say this specific card will always be there:

one card i will never part with is my t206 marquard portrait. got it when i was thirteen for a cool 8 bucks. My first ever vintage card and my favorite. I would post a scan of it, but i think you all have seen that particular card/pose once or twice

this card, while a more recent aquisition, would be almost as hard to let go:

My collection is nowhere near as cool as the collections you folks own. Nothing super-scarce, nothing earth-shattering, nothing uncatalogued or unique.

That said, I'd be hard pressed to get rid of these - some for sentimental reasons, some just because I love the way they look.

Harmon Killebrew was my favorite...I wrote to him when I was 6 and invited him over for dinner (my mom said it was okay), he replied and apologized that he couldn't but sent the postcard and autographed my card (lost the letter he sent during my yearly "show and tell" classes these pieces went to). The picture is a bit small but it says; "To - My Pal Sean, Good Luck - Harmon Killebrew"

I will never get rid of my T206 Minneapolis SGC graded team.

Go Twins! 2006 World Champs (if we beat Japan)!
