Default Let's see some card disasters !!!

OK......

I bought this Crawford / throw in a SGC Auth holder. Of course, knew it was cut in half. But figured back paper would soak off, and I would have something to deal with ....

crawec.jpg

..... as expected, the paper fell right off during quick soak

BUT -----> soaking also exposed:

1 -- A small "mark"
2 -- A good chunk'o paper loss
3 -- Widened the out of the cut at top boarder

At least I glued it back together with better alignment !!!!!

Fun stuff, Scott

I agree, Mike! I love that Williams. One of my most prized possessions is my beat to shit 1990 Donruss Nolan Ryan. I put the card in my wallet in 1990 and kept it there until 2001 when I sent it to him to sign. Beautiful card.

Not my card (I truly wish it was), but one of my all-time faves (and I'm not kidding). (I've posted before, but can't get enough of this one.)

BEAUTY!!

Default t206 elberfeld wash portrait

I'll plop in a photo of the card in a little bit. Hard to believe the majority voted 'not real' when I sent the card to expert Kevin Saucier who gave it an authentic assessment. I only paid $5 for it, so who cares is what I say.

No picture, but my favorite was a dealer who had a 1952 Topps Mantle that had years before permanently glued/sealed along with other items to the bottom of an ashtray. You had to look through the ashtray to see Mickey's face.
