Default Need help with Photo Type information

Hello all …. I need some help with what you would call these prints. R329 issued negatives in a pack along with paper to develop them on. The original negatives apparently are known as “Halftone” which are dot matrix copies from the originals. These are what was sold back in 1938. Known as Foto Fun ( Clo-Pay ) … buyers were actually encouraged to use the “film” over and over to create more prints. I’ve noticed that all the original prints are pretty terrible on a dark blue paper and many poorly developed. If I were to make high quality prints from the “films” would it be correct to call them “Type 2 Prints from Original Halftone negatives” ? Seeking knowledgeable opinions before I mislabel them inadvertently…… thanks for any help you can offer! Rocky in Jacksonville Florida

I call them Newer Stock R329s. Type 2 sounds good too...

I would just stick with a variation of "Prints from Original Halftone negatives".

The negs are already copy negs, which were made from taking a photo of an already existing photo.

The prints from those would more likely be classified as Type IV, IMO. Once you get to that level however, it's really irrelevant what PSA would call them.

Just say what they are "Modern prints from Original Halftone Negatives".
