Default PSA grading standards for t206s from an average joe

We have a large number of great looking T206s that were bought back in the 1980s from a single owner long before PSA was around. Many look "pack fresh." Here are a few that really struck me as having great color, sharp corners and that seem to compare favorably, if not nicer, than PSA 8s that I see on Ebay and have seen in many of the auction catalogs. I have never submitted any T206s to a third party grader. Before I send in dozens and dozens of these, I wanted to see how PSA grades these if submitted by an average joe who hasn't used PSA. I have read that certain submitters such as big auction houses seem to have more "success" when submitting potential high dollar cards. Not sure if that has any credibility. Signed up for the collectors club and included 2 T206s with the free submission. There are no creases or wrinkles on these cards. They look so fresh, I was concerned perhaps someone had trimmed them back in the day.

I sent in the Clymer and Lord. Both really low population cards in 7 and 8. I am hesitant about sending in any of the HOF portraits through the mail and just not sure what to expect from PSA on HOFers in higher grade condition.

I spent many hours reviewing the PSA 6, PSA 7 and PSA 8 and PSA 9 listings on Ebay and the auction houses for t206s and I know everyone wants to "overgrade" their own cards. But I just cant see how these cards look anything like the PSA 6s or PSA 7s that I see. They arent gem mint, but they certainly appear Nm-mint, I have plenty of PSA 8s of 1950s cards in my collection and these t206s look even sharper than many post war cards I have in PSA 7 and 8. If PSA is going to grade these 5s and 6s, its not worth paying to get them graded.

I would welcome some opinions on what are some realistic grades on these t206s based on the experiences of some here. Feel free to PM me too.
The Collins and Johnson both have some corner wear. Those seem like high end 6s or 7s from what I have been been comparing them, but the others are much sharper.

I also tried to compare what some PSA 6s look like and PSA 7s and PSA 8s to see where these fit in.

Am I crazy to think the Clymer, Lord, Hofman and Oakes are as nice as PSA 8s I see selling? Or are these more in line with PSA 6s or lower?
Thanks for any input.

Here is a PSA 6 Speaker on Ebay and a PSA 7 Street. While both nice cards. Neither looks as nice as the Clymer, Lord or Hofman in my opinion. Or am I just not understanding how PSA grades these?

Those cards are unreal. Hopefully they aren't trimmed. The top of Clymer doesn't look good, but the rest don't look trimmed. I am very skeptical of high grade looking T206s though. Good luck with the grades. They are beautiful cards regardless.

You could always send in a couple on your own and see if a major AH will submit a couple on your behalf, assuming that is a service they offer. If they do offer that service I would assume you would have to sell through them, but I have no direct knowledge. It would be interesting to see the results.

Either way you have some great cards, especially if it turns out they're not trimmed.

One thing that may hit some of the grades is the misregistration on the Clymer, Johnson, and Hofman.

You don't see many raw T206 that look like that. Assuming no trim issues, the should grade high, but never expect an 8.

With regards to mailing, you might want to see if PSA is going to be at any shows in your area where you could drop off.
