Default Piedmont Art Stamps

Just curious, how many members collect these? What level of rarity, compared to other issues of the same era, are they considered to be? Is there a comprehensive checklist (is the entire T205 set available in stamp form?). Please post any examples you may have as I don't see many floating around out there.
Thanks!

Default T330-2

Tony,

You should be able to find a lot of info if you search for T330-2 on the forum and web. I tried to put some Cubs together but they're either in bad shape or too costly for me. Good luck

Eric

Default Speaker Stamp

My only. I don't collect them, so nothing really to add except I think they are really cool in person, fragile, and the back is foil-like shiney.

I recently ran across a couple of small albums filled with "Art Stamps"...unfortunately no baseball other than a Lord and Taylor baseball themed stamp. Before I came across these albums I did not know how big Art Stamp collecting was back around 1910-1915...there are stamps for all kinds of things....Beer, railroads, historical themes, et cetera... I found out that today collectors call them "Poster stamps".

T330-2s are quite scarce. I have owned about 30 of them over the years. This is my only one now...and then a Kangaroo non-sports proof group, from Decalco litho, that I really like....

This is the only Evers I've seen, although others surely exist.
I had a Schulte at one time, in poor condition. Most seem to be in poor condition. Lee and Andy know quite a bit about them, hopefully they will chime in. They are tough to find, especially if you are looking for a certain one.

Thanks for the info everyone. I had no idea they were called T330-2. Good to know for research purposes.

t330-2bates1.jpgt330-2bates2.jpg

I have this one as a type. Probstein had a couple up earlier this week and Huggins and Scott had a nice group of around 15 the other day.

There was a post in the last few weeks about there being a few Piedmont Art stamps that do not appear in the T205 set. I can't recall which cards they are.

I would pick up a few more to put into a T205 back run along with the silks that have the same images on the front.

Default Stamp Link

Here is the link to that T202 + T205 and T330-2 thread...although not a 'stamp' collector, I have always thought that the Piedmont Art Stamps were cool.

Here are my six stamps. The Killifer is one of the stamps that isn't in T205. I like this set because of the player/team combinations, especially the Federal Leaguers. I'm always interested in trading for more!

sorry for the lag in posts.....i was kidding.....

i collect these buggers and really don't need any competition

probstein did have a couple last week. huggins auctioned 6 (not 15) nice examples.

lower grade examples, like probstein's, are not too difficult.....but finding a specific player would be quite tough.

examples like the huggins auction, or Mike's (above), are incredibly hard to find.

i would say you see maybe 20/year on ebay and very few in AH's.

there are 118 in the set, i think. while these do use the t205 images; there are 3, i believe, that are not the same image. bill killifer, joe wood, and the third escapes me.

i have collected these for 8-9 years.....i'm up to about 40 different.

Default Only Two in My Collection

I see these are Factory 42 and the other reverses show Factory 25 - any other variations?

Interesting Kevin.......some of the NONsports Stamps can be found with either Piedmont or the more tougher version Chesterfield....another Liggett Myers brand.....I'm assuming no one has ever seen a Chesterfield baseball stamp....

Oh wow, I didn't know there were stamps like the Killifer with t205 style art, but no corresponding t205. That sure lends credence to the theory that there were t205s that weren't printed for whatever reason to make up the 400 subjects.

The only T330-2 I have is this Marquard. I sold this Bender a few years ago to another Board member, but unfortunately, the USPS lost it intransit to him. Interestingly, both of these are Factory 25. One of my biggest collecting regrets is not bidding high enough to win a lesser-condition WaJo stamp several years ago; if anyone has a WaJo (any condition) they are willing to sell or trade, kindly LMK - I'll happily part with this nice Marquard to do a deal.
