It looks like Crackerjacks this time.

He generally pays top dollar when he is doing this so it might be a good time to sell. I know I was happy when I sold him over 80 T205 commons.

As soon as I start out on CJ's, Kit Young gobbles up every last one. Check the items he's won in the last month...he's been paying some rediculous prices.

Anyone else forsee a Topps reissue of Cracker Jacks coming up in the near future?

Now that we've had Topps-206 and Topps-205, maybe he'll move on the subcontract for "Topps-low-grade-Old Judge."

Or, better yet, Topps-"graded"-reprint. Then it won't inflate the prices of anything we collect...

I would think that Goudeys would be a good route for Topps to take, in part because they're classics and in party because they're relatively easy/inexpensive to buy in bulk. You can even get some low grade Hall of Famers at a decent price.

Thinking about it, Fleer came out with a Goudey football issue in 1997, so perhaps Fleer holds rights to the Goudey brand name.

I am be delusional, but I think I remember reading somewhere that Fleer bought World Wide Gum (parent comapany of Goudey) back in the 40s.

Kit Young had a quarter page ad in this weeks SCD to buy Cracker Jacks, '14-15's. Says he's paying 80-100% of book. I did buy a graded ExMt CJ from him a few weeks ago, so he's selling some of them. Based on the couple of auctions he's won it would seem like he's looking for VGish ones.

Is it typical that the writing on the reverse of these cards is written upside down as compared with the front of the card?

Actually, the back is right-side up, but the front is upside-down...

Ahhh! Then the one I own is incredibly rare because its front is right-side up, and the back is upside-down!!

I was in the same boat as you. everytime I would bid on something he would outbid me. It got old fast.

Please contain "wants" to the Buy/Sell/Trade thread. Elliot

Since the National, Kit Young has also bid on and won quite a few ebay auctions for graded and raw N172 Old Judges. A majority of his winnings for N172's have ended 100.00 and higher on average and most seem to be VG or better. In fact, I think a few were sniped right before closing.

From what I have heard Kit has a client for whom he is putting a collection of Old Judge together. He seems to have set a limit of about $200/card and doesn't seem to care if the cards are rebacked. Just what we all need, a little more competition.
