Default Lemke's Collection Auctioned

I wanted to let friends of Bob Lemke know that there are six lots from his estate that have been put in the current Collect Auctions event that opened on July 1 and closes on July 18. These are pretty unusual lots, the final diverse pieces of his collection, an array that includes vintage cards, publications, yearbooks, slides and, perhaps most notably, the remaining inventory of his fabled “Cards That Never Were.” Bob collected things that intrigued him, often purchasing material connected with his work for Sports Collectors Digest and the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards. I urge anyone interested to take a look at Lot Nos. 173, 174, 357, 1069, 1158 and 1159. The lot descriptions are lengthy and detailed to an almost unprecedented degree.

Interesting, I didn’t know he still had stuff. I corresponded with him over email a few months before his death, and remember him telling me he had sold the bulk of his stuff like Topps sets to Mr. Mint a long time ago.

Default Lemke stuff

Yeah, he did sell much of his main collection to Alan a long time ago, but as I noted in the listing, this is a truly eclectic array of odds and ends, much of which I think he accumulated in working for SCD and the Standard Catalog. Since he was an old friend, I spent a lot of time detailing what's left, so if anybody has any questions about it feel free to call ... (715) 445-2902. All proceeds go to his widow, Mary Ann.
