Default Mile HIgh action-- after three months

I received an email notice from Mile High Cards this afternoon that a '34 Goudey Charlie Grimm I won (and paid for) in mid February had been shipped earlier today. Does anyone know why it requires three months to pack and send a single card?

I'm sure there's some rational explanation, and I'm really ready to hear what it might be.

Default My guess is...

You didnt spend $100k plus on it, so they made you wait until they were good and ready? Maybe Im just a little cynical...

You should call Brian and talk to him, he is a good guy and sure he will make it up to you in some shape or form.

Bob, that's incredible -- had you forgotten that you had won the card or have you been after them for three months to ship it? I find that most of the auction houses are slow shippers save REA. But three months is off the charts.

Bob, I certainly hope you appreciate the three months of time and care they put into packaging it.

The Man in Black is the King.

And yes, Greg, my continued frenzy of expensive card purchases does help me deal with the orgy of suffering going on in the world. Thanks for asking.

Grasshopper, you are only taking yourself further away from spiritual enlightenment. And as the song goes, Johnny Cash is dead and his house burned down.

Default Wrong auction house?

Hello, I'm Mitch Rosenberg, Consignment Director at Mile High Card Company. I don't usually look at message boards but I was told of this thread and felt compelled to set the record straight. I think the original poster may have confused us with another auction company.

We did not have a 1934 Charlie Grimm in our last auction (held in January). Furthermore, all of the lots in the auction were paid for within 30 days of the auction close and shipped shortly thereafter. It was a small auction (474 lots) and all shipping was completed well over a month ago.

If indeed there ever is any problem with any of our auctions, everyone is free to call us at our office and we will do everything to rectify the situation.

Default Problem with video link?

May just be my jacked up computer, but when I clicked on the NIN Hurt video link, it kept opening new screens and finally closed out all of my browser windows automatically, and showed an error message. Just want to make everyone aware that it happened just in case. No harm no foul.

Bob, I think there is some confusion between Mile High's regular catalog auction and their ebay auctions.

Friends:

If you'll read the original post you'll see that I made no reference to any particular auction at all.

But thanks for your comments. Esp. concerning The Man in Black

"I found him by the railroad tracks this morning
I could see that he was nearly dead.
I knelt down beside him and I listened
Just to hear the words the dyin' fella said ..."

And that beautiful lament from a man who knew that he too was dying.

It doesn't get much better than this, does it?

Now I taught the weeping willow how to cry, cry, cry
And I showed the clouds how to cover up a clear blue sky.
And the tears that I cried for that woman are gonna flood you Big River.
Then I'm gonna sit right here until I die.
