Default 1934 Gold Medal Foods

Posted By: Anonymous

I have 6 cards from the 1934 Gold Medal Foods world series issue. Along with these are an Al Simmons, Ossie Oswald, George Earnslaw, Roy Hudson and Chuck Klein that look like they could be from the same set but aren't included in anything I can find. I would appreciate any information anyone could give me on these. I have done quite a bit of research on line and this forum is the best I have found. Thanks for any help. glbills

There was an article about these cards in the most recent Old Cardboard magazine (www.oldcardboard.com is the website -- I'm sure you can still order the issue). There were apparently two sets issued, one commemorating the 1934 World Series, and one issued of players that were not in the World Series. The non-World-Series cards are not yet cataloged, but I suspect the will be in next year's Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards.

I'd be happy to take the Klein and Simmons off your hands.
