Default 1912 Zeenut Backs

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy

I received my 2nd 1912 Zeenut in the mail earlier today. It has the more common back with just the Bardell Sepia logo in the bottom right corner of the back. My 1st 1912 Zeenut has the tougher "Save ZEENUT Pictures For valuable premiums List will be issues July 15, 1912 COLLINS-McCARTHY CANDY CO. San Francisco, Cal." ad back.

I was surprised to see that the Bardell Sepia logo is quite a bit larger on the ad back card.

Is this standard or does the logo vary in size on both types?

Patrick, there are regular backs with both small and large Bardell sepia logos, along with the "Save Zeenuts" back. All the Ad backs I have seen have had the large logo.

Mine too has the large logo. By the way when SGC grades these it makes mention of the Collins-McCarthy back.

Thanks Rhett!

It's nice to learn something new about the sets I collect.

Thanks,

Patrick

Steve:

Both of our 1912 Auer Zeenuts have the ad back, which leads me to my next question.

Do the players come with different backs or do they just have one of the three types?

Thanks in advance.

Patrick

Leon:

Thanks for the response. Now I know that different backs are available. Your Auer is pretty nice. Here's my Auer 1912 Zeenut.
