Default What's your favorite Cobb card under 10k?

Thinking about selling a couple cards and picking up a cool Cobb card. Not a t206 or CJ, and nothing post card sized or bigger. If anyone has any ideas or pictures they'd like to post here please do.

A nice sharp higher grade T205 is a beauty. Any e101 family is cool as well. Also, T227. Good luck Jesse. Be sure to share what you get!

Thanks for the suggestions so far. D304 or t227 were the two I had in mind initially. Although decent d304 cobbs seem to be going for more than 10k. I prefer the colorful prewar issues for aesthetic reasons to black and white. And I'd like something in a psa or sgc 3 or better ideally.

Though this is my second copy, this was my first Cobb and remains my favorite:

Anyone can share whatever they want. It's always interesting to see different pieces. But my search will most likely be for something that fits the preferences I mentioned. Looking for a card I will enjoy owning for years so I will take my time until I find the right one.

Jesse- the E90-1 American Caramel in an accurate 3/3.5 is a thing of beauty, and meets your parameters. The golden and pink sky in the background and image of Ty getting ready to swing are phenomenal.

I don't see how you can go wrong with the t205. It is one of the most beautiful baseball cards there is and you can get a PSA 6 for under 10k. The card has been on the rise the last few years too, so it will be a solid investment too.

I believe the bargain of the century is the t202 cobb...cobb/jennings/the slide...you get basically a t205 cobb plus one of the most famous conlon images on the planet...cobb sliding and a jennings for good measure

I'm partial to the E102 "leaning on bat" pose, followed by E95 and D304. Cobb has a ton of great cards.

Low grade D304 for me, hands down. Long as the image and centering are ok. First PreWar card I ever acquired, as it always kind of stood out to me on sheer aesthetics. So much personality in that face!

For some reason the t205 and e94/98 just don't appeal to me. I do like the look of the e95, e103, and e102.

And Matt that one would be perfect. Definitely my first choice if I can find one.

I agree with you as far as the E cards go, but I've always liked the T205. Plus, I like to read the backs of cards. Sorry, mine isn't close to the $10K limit, but I like it.

I know you said no T206s, but it's still "the set." You could get a really great Cobb+grade+eye appeal+back for under 10k. This was a shade under 10.

I used to own all 4 t206 cobbs, including a nice green one I'm sorry I let go. As well as an e90-1. I have nothing against them, and may look to add them back at some point. But for this one I would like a card I've never had before.

It's actually in the Platinum HA auction right now. Plus, its under 10k. I don't like outing auctions, but since you asked.. No, Im not the consignor. I have a nice example of the scare Cobb Brush postcard, and that would be my vote for Jesse to go after with 10k.

Nice card. Incredible eye appeal for a 2. If not for the paper loss on back, it’s a 4 any day. Unless there’s a crease I can’t see in the scan.

M116 isn’t my favorite issue, but what other card can you buy of Cobb in his playing days in NM condition for under 10k? The T213’s are relatively inexpensive compared to T206, which is another option. I picked up this one for around $2200. I really like the E95 as well.

Apologies for the blurry half-ass pics.

I would say the T227 and E95 like others have said.
Those two are on my one card purchase/year plan.

If you got $10k to drop, buy the nicest card you can for the $10k!!! doesn't look like you would be able to get a PMG Jordan card...

Of course this baby is another option — a very highly sought after issue with tons of upside. In fact I’m shocked that no one has suggested it.

While all the drawings of Cobb are nice, you could get a very nice exhibit card with a real photo of Cobb in action for a fraction of that price.

No crease, just the paper loss knocked it down to a 2. I had this SGC 2, which does have a tiny crease and bought the PSA2 thinking I was upgrading. But I can't decide which I like better!

I like the idea of E95 -- or a nice M116 blue Cobb (you can do a lot better than mine with a $10 k limit).
