Default Please keep an eye out for these stolen cards

Hi all,

Posting this for a friend who's not familiar with this site.

A group of mostly 30s baseball cards was stolen from his elderly father's house in the Algonquin, IL area earlier this year.

Though a long shot, he wanted to put it out there in case any collectors/dealers run into a similar group at a show/shop etc.

He did file a police report and he does have pictures of the cards.

The group consists of:

1939 Play Ball (101 with Dimaggio)
1940 Play Ball (60 with Dimaggio)
1933 Delong (3)
1936 4 on 1 Exhibits (6)
1931-32 4 on 1 Exhibits (3)
1934 4 on 1 Exhibits (14)
1933 Goudey (12)
1934 Goudey (7)
1935 Goudey ( 17 with 2 Ruths)
1938 Goudey (30)
1934 Diamond Stars (5)
1930s Wheaties Box Cut Outs (20)

Thanks very much.

Rob

This is terrible news.

I used to run card shows back in the day in the Crystal Lake/Elgin area and will alert the contacts I know to be on the look out. More than likely if these cards are going to be moved for cash at the Rosemont show in a few weeks. Perhaps that promoter can let dealers know to watch for your cards.

Rob-

This is terrible news.

You have a friend who's not familiar with this site?

But seriously, I hope, with a friend like you helping, he recovers his cards.

I hate hearing about thefts! There really aren't any shops or shows near Algonquin. My guess is the cards were sold on eBay. No one has brought in any groups like that at the Milwaukee shows or the Orland Park show. I'll keep an eye out. So sorry to hear about this.
