Default WhereTheyAint

Anyone else get an email from WhereTheyAint.Com?

Seems pretty silly. Every image on their website and in the email is a broken image.

Their email says they get silly prices on their cards. This is a quote from the email:

1911 Sporting Life Cobb
Grade: PSA 7
Our Sale Price: $7,995
Sportscardlink: $3,630
eBay Auctions: $3,995
Legendary Auctions: $3,286

Has anyone ever seen this guy actually sell a card before. His inventory seems pretty ridiculous, to the point where it seems like he probably doesn't even have half of the stuff he is trying to sell. To boot, I never even signed up for his 'mailing list'. So its actually total spam.

His title is what he is all about "Where they Ain't"...he sells cards without even having them in his hand. Think he has been doing this for years.

To my knowledge, this guy (Ben M.) is a partner with Larry Mayer (BB4cards). Their inventory lists are very similar. I have bought many cards from Larry, but you absolutely pay for it, believe me. Absolutely no negotiation , the price is what it is. Larry has always been good to me in terms of standing by his terms and cards. He also handles prime time high end T206s...I get emails every week from Where they ain't, not one transaction....

Received many unwanted calls/e-mails from them. I asked the question how many of the cards they offer for sale they had in hand... Their response was "most"... I tend to think the percent is under 10... Their business model is dishonest, abusive of less knowledgeable individuals - and a joke. Of course this is my opinion.

I am sure that, eventually, offering enough cards for a long enough time, they come across an occasional buyer who either doesn't know the market or is indifferent to price. But at those multiples of market it surely is a rare occurrence.

When you make $4000 on a $4000 cards selling it for $7995 you only need to sell a couple cards a month

I have never dealt with them and their emails were coming to me through ebay. I made ebay aware knowing they would only care if I stressed that they were trying to sell me things through another source. I knew if ebay knew they weren't getting a cut they would step in and I don't know what they did but the emails stopped.

To my knowledge, Larry does not send out emails, it is Where they ain't. But again, their inventories are about identical. I am sure that Ben is working off of Larry's cards....

More spam email, very generic in wording and sent to the masses. I emailed Ben back and requested that he not email me anymore.

I receive e-mails from Ben quite often. Recently offered me a T206 Magie in a PSA 1 that ended selling on e-bay a few days ago. Last year it was a list of scarce backs in HOFers. His prices are usually to rich for my blood, so we never worked out a sale. For years Larry Mayer who use to be a strong buyer of T206 cards on e-bay. My transactions with Larry have always been positive.

I know Larry as well. He sold me some 1965 Topps cards a few years ago. He's a great guy, in addition to having some really impressive cards.
