I tried for the Uncle Jack's Ruth also, but bids quickly spiraled out of control for me. I was hoping to try for a color run, but with these prices, I'll just have to be satisfied with my trimmed copy.

The live auction process was pretty interesting also. I didn't win anything, but probably would try again in the future.

Yeah, that Cy Young painting is simply amazing. It's tough to get paintings of ball-players with that much eye appeal any more. What did it go for? Without looking, I'll guess $25,000

Picked up an Uncle Jacks Candy Ed Brandt (SGC 4) for $225. Good deal or just so-so?

Yeah, I agree. Pockets weren't quite deep enough for the Babe Ruth...

Brock, you and Greg are such downers. Do I need to show you two a photo-match?

If it were me, I would have postcards made of the painting, and sell them at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Perhaps do a signing with one of Old Cy's descendants.

Sure glad you didn't think you got a steal. That sucker would be re-listed at a million dollars .

I thought that painting looked familiar. It was discussed previously here:
