I knew I had seen those pre rookies someplace. Good luck with the auction! Curious how the Harry Lindblom fits in with the HOFers though.

Definitely agree. Topps '55 AA is a great set, but given Hutson, Hein, etc. weren't active at that time, those rookie cards always have an asterisk for me - pretty rare to see so many contemporary cards/items of these players up at the same time.

I thought Hutson's RC was his Wheaties box issue from the 1930s?

Yeah, I was just trying to say I like Dave's "pre" rookies better than the standard rookie cards. I'm not trying to restart this discussion, but even though the Wheaties box is earlier, the '55 AA is the rookie card - it's not my opinion - it's just what sources like Beckett, PSA, etc. state.

Dave, I hope you did well. Did anyone win anything? I bid on one of the items in the list, but didn't win.

I picked up one matchbook cover I needed. The 1933 Diamond Mel Hein.

Came up short on a few other items I was interested in.

jeff

P.S. Like pre-rookie cards better too! Particular for those players where their "rookie" card is from after they retired! Just a silly concept created by the powers that be to get collectors to buy / slab cards that are more prevalent.

Nice pick up on the Hein! The closest I have is that he's lined up at blocking back in the Johnny Dell Isola Chicle. I used to have the '55 AA too, but I sold off my 75th anniversary set.

Something for everyone in this auction.

I picked up the 1943 Army-Navy full ticket. Considering only 9K people attended, extremely rare.

Would love to know who consigned it and what other gems they have.
