This is what Mr. Jeff "Bring the" Payne posted a while back. I've been noticing that there have been literally ZERO posts in this forum in the last 8 days, so I figured I'd be the one to start the autograph thread. Usually I only post cards on Net54 from before 1980, occasionally the early 80's, but try not to post anything newer. For this thread, I'm suspending that time frame. I just want to get some activity going again in this forum.

I have 18 Gino Cappelletti autographs, but those have all been posted in a different thread, so I won't include them here. I'll start with my John Hannah and Andre Tippett autos, which are the 2 other players I collect. Here goes....

Here are the last scans I could find. I have others, but they're not scanned. Hoping others will jump in here!

I don't have many autographed cards but quite a few autographs on 3x5 cards, photos, letters, checks, programs and other items. Here is an autographed page from Jim Thorpe and on the other side Ted Williams, and there is a card to go along with it - they were both at the Sportsmen's Show in Boston in 1952.

Here are some other ways I've found autographs - signed endorsement documents from the Pottsville Maroons, a book that once belonged to Steve Owen, a Chicle R-311 premium I sent to Gerald Ford, and a CARD - a cut of Dutch Clark

I am putting together an autographed set of the 1955 Topps All-Americans. It'll probably be a project that lasts a lifetime

Here are some of the stars:

You guys have some very nice autographs. Here are some of mine. Some years back Bart Starr had the Rawhide Ranch you could donate to and he'd sign a card, Alan Page had the Page Foundation, and Payton had the Halas Payton foundation you could send in for autographs. The Steve Largent i won on ebay. I've seen a few of these sports illustrated Greats of the Game auto's about... would like to have more some day.

Several years ago, I thought a good project would be getting an autograph of as many players as I could on the larger size cards from the 1950's. The goal was one autographed card per player from any year, 1953-1956 Topps or Bowman. All vintage. No reprints. I went at it hard or a while, but got distracted by Obaks or something. I have stagnated at around 120 different players.

I am partial to the '55 Bowman and '56 Topps for autographs because of the clean backgrounds. (These d@mn things were right side up on my scans! Sorry.)

I have a number of signed cards from that 1977 TD set - Danowski, Dudley, Flaherty, Friedman, Grange, Hein, Howell, Leemans, Nagurski, Poole B, Poole J, Soar, and Strong. The Friedman card has a story - they took a photo of Friedman with Cliff Montgomery and used Montgomery on the Friedman card by mistake.

Sunday I went to a card show with the following 3 autograph guests:

I am beyond thrilled with the Mankins!

While at the show, I picked up this Tippett:

I know his auto well enough that I'm confident it's authentic. This makes 13 signed cards in my collection from Tippett's playing era and it's the 4th card for his signed basic Topps run I just started.

Agreed. The 58 Brown is an iconic football card, but it is probably the least attractive of all his major issues. Both of the 1961's are really gorgeous cards. And autographed too!!! Nice.

I corresponded with Revmoran some years ago and he was one of the individuals who gave me inspiration for collecting Jewish football memorabilia. I never had many autographed cards, but quite a few autographs on letters. Here are some of those letters.

Got this back TTM yesterday. Sent with $10 and returned lightning quick. Most HOFers don't sign TTM, but not only did he sign, this card went from the east coast to Missouri and back in 12 days. Factor in the holiday season and that's just awesome! Very happy with how this one turned out.

No love for HOFers Wehrli and Fouts, but I'll try again.

I bought a big lot of autographs - 48 of them at less than a dollar apiece. They produced 38 keepers for my personal collection, including 9 Patriots cards. Here are those:

Of all 48 cards, this is my favorite. Bruschi is one of my 2 favorite football players of all time, and I think the auto looks great on this relic card. My first Bruschi auto

Armstrong was an underrated player and I think his card here looks great. I never was a fan of Grogan.

Lots of defensive firepower here. Law made the 10 finalists in HOF voting for the 2nd year in a row, so he'll get in soon. His card here is headed to PSA/DNA. I would submit the Wilfork too, but it has serious condition flaws that don't show up in the scan. Just means I'll need to hunt down a better Wilfork autographed card.

Nice Wilfork!

It's not a card but I picked up a 1963 HOF program with a bunch of signatures of HOFers in it. Really happy to have snagged this!

Grange, Hubbard, Lavelli, Guyon autos

I only with Grange and Hubbard had signed this on their individual pages.

I went to the Mansfield, MA, card show today. Got an auto of hockey HOFer Johnny Bucyk for one son and an auto of current Patriot and 8x pro Bowler Matthew Slater for my other son. These are the 2 autos I got for myself:

The Graham is an SP. I might one day do a project with the 65 Pats. I already have a signed 65 Cappelletti. Len St. Jean's RC is supposedly 70 Topps, but this 69 Glendale Stamp is earlier. I have a signed Glendale Cappelletti too.

Landed these in an autograph draft on SCN.

I have the complete 75 Wonderbread set, nice to add a Kunz auto to it.
