Boston Garter without a doubt. I have never seen that card. Is it up for auction?

Both are great, but if forced to make a choice, I would go with the Boston Garter.

Can anyone think of any Ty Cobb card that might match the BG in value or desirability? I cannot.

Great card. Never saw the BG before. I guess that makes it very easy.

In Rememberance of James W. Brennan Sr. 1924-1982. Dad, thanks for everything you did for me.

Jeff:

I have the over/under on the available Boston Garter at $105K and the over/under on the available Cobb Cobb at $44K. I don't know if that affects a decision.

edited to add the words "available"

BG goes for close to $100K and the Ty Cobb back around $75K. Anyone else have an opinion on final prices?
Jeff- BG all day every day hands down!!

I voted easy decision on the Boston Garter but I would be happy to have either and either will do well at auction, in todays environment. I don't think the Cobb back (that one)will/would get to 75k....I think closer to 50k...and the BG maybe 100k....hard to tell....maybe I am way off??

I agree with Leon -- the BG for around 100 or less, and the Cobbx2 for 50-70K.

The Boston Garter should be well over $100,000. It is graded SGC 50? Didn't a Joe Jackson with some serious alterrations go for over $100,000 in Mile High not long ago. We have seen several Jacksons, and this is the first time a Cobb has been offered to the public.

If a SGC 30 Cobb back breaks $45K, that will set a record for a price for a PSA/SGC 2 level Cobb back. I think in this climate the price will be less than $45K.

Although I do not collect either one as I am only interested in the earliest issued Cobb card possible, the Boston Garter is a beautiful issue and definitely more appealing to a non-partisan collector like myself who is not looking at the $$ involved.

I'm not sure it qualifies as a "card".

Its not tobacco, candy, or, bread.

Its not nearly card-sized.

If postcards aren't cards....

Not once in this thread has anyone mentioned in which auction these are being sold! Where are they?

(Apologize for my ignoramousness)

The BG. I think the BG will go around 200k or more.

Ken,

The upcomming Hunt Auction has three Boston Garters, including the Ty Cobb.
