excluding the T206 Wagner-Plank-Doyle, 1914 Baltimore Ruth, T210 Jackson, etc. I'm talking about that rare, maybe obscure card that you've always wanted and could probably afford if only it would show up.

I'll start with the 1935 Pebble Beach Clothiers Lefty O'Doul.

J=K Candy card of Bedient.

With only 2 known examples, this is going to make completing my player set almost impossible.

Last year there was a fistfight between fans and players at a professional basketball game. Not to be outdone, the National Hockey League has announced that not only will several fans be beaten every period, but one lucky fan each game will be run over by the Zamboni.

I'd really love to have an N172 Mike Griffin batting pose, but I'd settle for an N172 Willamson and mascot.

Pet peeve time. I'm grumpy from lack of sleep and having to get ready to go to work, but why is that when someone poses a question like this, they can't follow the parameters? Of course there are a tons of holes in our collection we want to fill, but he asked for the ONE card you want.

Think of it as if you had one wish to get any card that existed. What card would you waste that wish on?

Pittsburgh K-bats team card.

Heres another thing to think about, could you imagine if we actually got these wishes but the cards came out of someone elses collection instead of just thin air? One day youd go to look at your cards and where your favorite card used to be was a note that said

"Dear John,
Leon chose this as his wish card so tough luck but you do have one wish of your own." love,Genie

Philadelphia BBC team card that REA sold this past April. I was looking to sell one of my nice [more modern] sets to bankroll the purchase, but it fell through. I would have really loved that card.

Have always wanted one ever since I saw this post a few months ago:

Anybody know how rare and obscure this card is, i.e, what is the chance of one showing up in any of the auctions, etc?

Julie,
The E254 Joe Jackson is listed in my 2005 SCD catalog (pg.93). I've never seen one though. I have seen the one PSA graded tin top Joe Jackson. I would be happy with any of them.

mine would be the 1912 Boston Garter Mathewson that went for 25k in a MAstro auction about a year ago, if I had to do it again, I would have bid to 30k........
doesnt mean that I would have won it though.

Congrats to the owner , you did well!

Scot, Julie is right, there is no E254 Jackson. It was listed by mistake as a E254 for many years when in reality he only exists as a TinTop. Due to the fact that TinTops look so much like E254's, somebody probably mistakenly listed it with their E254's they had when compiling the checklist--and it was carried in the guides until this year (I think Lemke took it out). Thankfully, I will not have to get one of those to complete my E254 set.

I like the way you put that Hal...unrealistic and realistic.

Realistic it would be an M116 Earl Moore in ex or less.
Unrealistic would probably be the Kalamazoo Bats Ewing.

Zach,

Funny you should write that. Staring at me while I work at my desk is:

Hmmm...which card...perhaps either a Joe Jackson or Matty 1914 Cracker Jack in high grade...as a runner up-T206 Cobb with a Cobb back sounds about right.

Bill- Don't want to dampen your hopes but I am not sure how realistic the Halla card is. I have been searching for one for my 1911 Zeenut set for some time and everytime I think I find one, 6 people were there ahead of me. Very, very scarce...

I echo Hal's sentiment of two categories:

Unrealistic price range is the N172 Anson in uniform.

Realistic is the Claxton Zeenut (w/coupon would be nice)

I'd probably want a high end 33 Goudey Ruth. For me that just means about Ex. No creases or scuffing, good color and registation. I have all four but they are all between poor and maybe good.

I would then recycle my poor example into OBC.
