Default Amazed by the numbers

One nice thing about this new website are the little counters that keep track of the number of views a particular thread gets. Am I the only one amazed by how high these numbers are?

For example, as of 2:20am today, May 6, 2009, the REA winners thread has been viewed nearly SIX THOUSAND times. The May 1st pickup thread has been viewed well over THREE THOUSAND times. And currently there are nearly SEVEN HUNDRED registered members of the Board (go to community, then members list).

I find these numbers to be quite remarkable when you actually see them.

Adam I agree!

Many times on the old board someone would post and say "I'm a long time reader of the board but don't usually post." I had no idea how many people fell into that group.

I think the numbers show there are a lot of people that view the board often yet rarely post. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Adam,

I agree completely. That calls for an old in Georgetown some time.

Default not too surprising

As someone that has always seen statistics on the board (on the old board only moderators could see them) I am not surprised at all. I also think there are at least 2-4x as many lurkers as there are registered bidders....and I think that multiple is low. Our family is quite large and is probably the largest vintage focused forum on the internet, if I had to guess. Of course I am biased but I think 99.9% of our members are great. ..
