Default Stamps on Back

Posted By: Brian

I have seen different threads about stamps on the back of cards and thought this one was pretty neat, stamped by the player's wife:

It has a Zip Code. They were announced on July 1, 1963, and used voluntarily. About 3 years later they received general use. That would date the stamp to about 52+ years after the card.

I am not sure when she originally acquired the card; from the writing on the back I would guess she might not have been the original owner. That address was her last place of residence, and I do not believe she moved there until some time after her husband died, and that was 1974. She must have got a new stamp and decided to use it. My parents inherited the card when she passed away.

Brian, it is a neat card, that is made into a Great One with the wife's stamp. I have a postcard of Ray Katt, signed by Mrs. Ray Katt shortly after he died. She died soon after. They were nice folks. He was glad to sign for anyone who asked.
