Default Question, regarding Topps chrome update

Hey everyone, since getting back into the hobby my focus has really been on vintage simply because that’s what I collected as a kid in the 80s. So what is the draw to a set such as the Topps chrome update? From observations it just seems like the main chase for ultra modern cards is in the short print and rookies. This is probably a more complex answer but just trying to understand. Any help would be great. Thanks so much!

Usually there is some hot rookie who has their best RC in that product. The Bowman Chrome and Bowman Chrome Draft are the best prospect cards, normally.

However, Topps Chrome is hot this year even though they mass-produced it. Many of the 1/1 Superfractors were accidentally produced and released in quantities of 2. So Fanatics, who bought Topps a couple years ago, put out bounties for those extra superfractors to try and get at least one of each returned to them.

They have also run a buyback special for people to get rebates by sending in cards of the AL and NL MVPs last year, and they're doing it again this year.

All of the Chromes are too expensive for what you get. Best advice I can give is to buy singles.

Oh, what a difference a year makes.
