Default Let's See Your T206 Brown Lennox, Broad Leaf 460, Drum, and Uzit

I have never owned one of these, but I would like to see what you have for the 4 toughest factory-issued T206 backs.

Thanks!

Here you go Bryan. By the way, this is an old scan. The Broadleaf 460 is now in a PSA holder. I'm sure that you'll see the pattern:

Amazing Broadleaf 460. In all sincerity, I would love the opportunity to trade for it, or to buy ("paying strong" for BL 460). Here is my contribution -- a Drum, Brown old Mill, Brown Lenox, Black Lenox, Uzit and a BL 350. No love for the Carolina Brights or Red Hindu??!!

I had 4-5 at one time, kept this one raw, thinking it was the nicest one. Had one other I sent in and got a 60, so still sure this was the nicer, got rid of the 60 and then got this one graded a year or so later. Sometimes you lose

Great stuff, Guys.

Between Sean's cards, and Rhotch's, I've owned several of those exact cards.

This Mullin Uzit, I own, has the darkest ink I've ever seen on a Uzit.

The BL460 is on eBay now through Probstein.

Wonder if the Murphy BL 460 was once with the Reb Cobb BL460, as they both have the corners torn off. They were not in the same lot when I bought it many years ago, but may have been in the same collection at one time.

And if anybody has a low grade Drum Davidson, he's still looking for company.

That's right, I bought the Street/ Drum from Mike. It goes really well with the Street/ BL460.

Here are mine: http://t206society.com/product/t206-society-collection/

It took something like eight years to get B. OM, B. Lenox, BL 460, Drum and Uzit in the same place at the same time, at least for me. I was not able to find elite HOF for any of these but to be honest I just feel grateful to have finally found one of each.

Great thread. Lots of amazing material here. Hopefully it becomes packed with great examples. I am excited to see some more amazing examples. Thank you very much for sharing.

Default UZIT, DRUM, LENOX, red HINDU, AB 460, SOVEREIGN 460, and BL 460 cards.

Here are some of my UZIT, DRUM, LENOX, red HINDU cards. Included, are front/back combos of two very tough T206's
whose backs are not normally considered that "tough"......AMERICAN BEAUTY 460 and SOVEREIGN 460.

This one is unique

.

.

.

.

...... and, this card I acquired many years ago, but I cannot find its front image.
I do not have this card anymore. Anyway, since it's a nice example of a BL 460, I thought it's worth displaying its back.

So sorry......no brown LENOX.

Here are six of my seven Drums that I have pics of in this phone. None are for sale, as I have a hard time dealing with sellers remorse.
I use to own the Ty Cobb, bat off, Brown Lenox. Sold it about ten years, I'm still struggling with it, still regret selling it. I sold Wagner #17 about forty years, still not over it.

I think that Bryan excluded Brown Old Mills because they are scrap cards that were never distributed in packs of cigarettes, and Cobb backs because he (and many others) consider it a separate issue, not a part of the T206 set.

Thanks for all of the great posts so far!

To Mike (post 7) --- good luck with the sale of your BL 460! You didn't post a link, so I will:

http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=244708

I was looking for the overall 4 toughest non-scrap backs. I drew the line at 4 because overall Red Hindu doesn't match the top 4 --- some Red Hindu combos are really tough, but if all you want is any Red Hindu they don't rank with these 4. I don't know enough about the Cobb back to have a defensible opinion there, but I also wanted to see some cards get posted!

Brown Lenox were factory cut and will receive numerical grades unless they were altered. 100% of the Brown Old Mills are printer's scrap and will always receive an Authentic grade.

Here are two good articles about T206 back scarcity that owe much to a few of our esteemed board members:

https://www.psacard.com/Articles/Art...ifferent-backs

https://www.psacard.com/Articles/Art...ack-variations

Keep the scans comin!

David, that is an awesome run. Coincidently, I am kinda working on something similar - one of each back, preferably in mid grades/condition with a HOF front (brown OM and SL aside), however, I may settle on lower grade commons for my drum, brown Lenox and BL 460. I will post my run at some point, but including the brown OM and Lenox, but excluding T213/T215. I am only a BL 460 away from a complete set/run. This and player back runs = lots of time, effort and $$$. But, alas, it yields a great picture like the one David posted and luckily we have a place like net54 where our craziness is (sometimes) appreciated by others.

Good luck and have fun with it. I put a lot of time in trying to find all those with a HOF on the front (I recently got a blank back that will ruin the symmetry of the grid so I haven't included it) but the hunt was the most fun. Now that I am done I do miss the journey.

You will find something new to collect; we all do. Maybe a back run or a team subset.

So who is the player on the Blank back?

So who is the player on the Blank back?
Blank back is Jake Beckley, which luckily I didn't have on any of the other backs. The more backs I collected the harder it became to add a new one without repeating one of the HOFs on the front. I also wanted to make sure I had all four Cobbs, the three Youngs, both Johnsons and all three Matthewsons included in the run which resulted in quite a bit of shuffling along the way.

I'll bet that it did. I remember in 2004 when I got my first Uzit. Three months later I got my first (only) Brown Lenox. I couldn't get rid of either one, so I kept them both. Five years later I started a back run that's become my favorite subset.
