Default Huggins and Scott's Stance

Posted By: James Feagin

I have read with interest over the weekend regarding the varying views of card alterations, and auction house roles regarding those issues. At Huggins and Scott we take very seriously our positive relationships with both our consignors and bidders. With over 30 years of experience, we understand the bond of trust that needs to exist in the hobby, and feel a great responsibility to those who entrust us in our auctions. Without reading between the lines, Huggins and Scott never has and never will trim/color/erase/press or in any way alter a card or piece of memorabilia. We operate on the premise of treating others like how we would want to be treated. Furthermore, we never will use any influence to try to get a friendly "bump" from a grading company. We do sell both "graded" and "raw" pieces in our auctions. We go above and beyond to ensure that we appropriately grade "raw" pieces based on our discretion. We also endeavor to describe our graded pieces in depth as well. As it has been noted, "buy the card, not the holder". Our company is growing rapidly because of our experience, noted integrity, and building a relationship of trust with both or consigners and bidders. If you have any questions, please ask, we like them. Happy Collecting,

James (Orioles 1954 and Huggins and Scott writer)

Do you ever own items in your auction and, if so, would you be willing to highlight those lots with a star or similar mark in your catalog?
