I saw him interviewed on the Charlie Rose Show a while back and he seemed sharp. Had often heard he was sick.

He said he's no so fan friendly, because he was uncomfortable being the center of attention in crowds and didn't like to answer questions about his past which he didn't consider pleasant (racism as a young player, etc).

Little bit of New York racism in that photo too. Willie Mays is "our boy" and I couldn't imagine they would ever put a white woman among those beauties.

It was what it was. I just see people in the photo. We have come a long way.
