Default So Far, So Great!

Posted By: Gary B.

While winning the first two is by no means an assurance of victory, we sure are off to a great start. Let's just hope that the Sox defense picks up, because I don't know if we can keep handing runs to the Cardinals (especially in St. Louis) and still keep coming out on top. The errors have been horrible and embarassing, but are easily forgiven when you win. Then again one badly timed error (sorry Bill Buckner) can have one reviled for decades. Playing the Carinals is no cakewalk, so I'm not breaking out my party hat yet, but I've bought the party hat and it's sitting in the trunk of my car waiting (so to speak).

I don't know what I'm going to do if the Sox win (after the celebration that is). Once my greatest baseball dream is realized, what will I strive towards? I don't even have a second place baseball desire that's even in the same ballpark as the Red Sox beating the curse (so to speak). Oh well, I'll figure it out. Now on to winning those two final games...

GO RED SOX!

It obviously doesnt look good for the Cardinals which is fine by me,because even if this thing goes 7,they still have to face Schilling once,Pedro twice,Derek Lowe, who is pitching for a long term contract, and either Arroyo who is or Wakefield who should be alot better in warmer weather. Looking at Cardinals they just dont have any pitchers who make you feel uneasy. Its gonna be just who can outslug who in game 4 and 5.Cardinals havent seen Pedro, and wont have the success the Yankees will who have seen him so many times in the last 2 seasons

Yeah watch out for the Yankees and their 225 million dollar payroll next year. They are the only team that could spend 194 mil and forget to get a good pitching staff.Just think how much better they could be next year if they had the income from 4 more world series games this year.Youre talking an extra 20 mil plus higher ticket prices next year, not that they wont go up again in 2005 anyway.Go Yankees, continue the trend next year
2001 lose in ws
2002 lose in playoffs
2003 lose in ws
2004 lose in playoffs
2005 lose in ws? im guessing to the Cubs so they cant break their curse too
2006 lose in playoffs to the white sox,who go on to win the ws

ahh that would be great

What do you think the Sox will do to keep this team together? Come to think of it they spent a nice buck already to get to this point..Nobody should feel sorry for them and this absurd run of 86 years!..

If the red sox spend more than the Yankees this upcoming season then come back to me.I never felt sorry for them either, but to say the Yankees will be back next year is an understatement because they arent on a level playing field.Of course theyll be back next year, theyre going to be back for at least every year George owns the team, how could they not.

Im not a big Red Sox fan,id like to see them win but im just happy im not watching another Yankees world series, enough is enough.Theyve been in all but one since 98,previous to this series

I hope the Red Sox keep their team together so they can make a run at the Yankees next year too but i dont see Lowe or Martinez signing with them or them spending anymore than they did this year.Probably about the same next season which would be about 100 mil less than the Yankees payroll

Being a Yankees fan is like rooting for the Harlem Globetrotters, you have a pretty good chance of being happy at the end of the game

Who could have imagined such a short time ago with the Red Sox down 3-0 against the Yankees after a 19-8 hammering that they would win 7 in a row and be up 3-0 against the St. Louis Cardinals?

So close to my greatest baseball dream, I can taste it. Either the curse is so cruel that it pulls off the biggest World Series upset ever or this is finally our year!

GO SOX! Woo-hoo!!!

Turns out there's no curse if you have great pitching... Who knew?

Pedro looked like he did in that '99 ALDS game vs. the Indians. He is one of the 10 greatest pitchers ever and showed why tonight.

the entire city of Boston will go on life support.
Don't scoff, the Sox were looking more dead than this after game 3 of the NLCS.
Will it happen, nah! But how wild would it be?

Congratulations to all Boston fans whose Red Sox are obviously going to win the World Series. As a Phillies fan, you have my congratulations but you've never had my sympathy. The Phillies, despite a 1980 World Series championship, definitely have a more pathetic losing history than the Red Sox. Your "Bambino" curse? - hell - our curses have curses. Your going to win the Series with our former manager Terry Francona. Hopefully the Phils have enough brains to hire Grady Little, your former manager, so we can win it next year. Have a nice parade!
