Default 1927 Yankees Red Sox collection ball

As my previous thread was hijacked, I thought I'd just do a new post on this.

I have had the good fortune to meet some folks for the Red Sox and was attending a game at Fenway. One of my friends with the club took us into a somewhat exclusive restaurant area where they keep a number of relics from Red Sox and baseball history.

One of the displays is a complete run dating back to 1920 of autographed baseballs from the team that won the world series. It is really amazing. Of course some balls are bolder than others.

Attached is a photo of the 1927 Yankees ball, which is pretty awesome, though I suspect it may have been lightly shellacked. The display goes up to the current year. They even have an unsigned ball for the 1994 World Series.

That was signed by the whole 1927 yankees team? I think around 10-20k.

yes, every ball is singed, I think by the whole world series roster. Though obviously you can't just get them out and play with them, you can see a lot of impressive signatures that bring to mind the great teams they represent... Mantle and Berra were usually on the sweet spot of the 60s yankees ball. Though you are a couple feet away you could easily make out Walter Johnson on the Senators ball and Jackie on the 55 Dodgers, several balls with Ruth, Gehrig, Hornsby, etc. . Amazing display.

The new Yankee Stadium has a similar display but I've always questioned whether they had real baseballs or replicas.
