Default My T206 sets are arranged with respect to the 5 series, how is your's arranged ?

I guess most collectors arrange their set in alphabetical order. Or by teams, or by other means. Anyhow I am curious, does anyone here arrange their set as follows ?

I started arranging my T206 cards with respect to the 150, 350-only, 350/460, 460-only, and Southern Leaguers series when I started my all-PIEDMONT set in 2006.
I did this in order to appreciate how American Lithographic printed (and issued) these cards. By arranging these cards in this manner, I have certainly gained a lot of
insight into the structure of the T206 set. This is just a suggestion for you serious T206 set enthusiasts.

I will illustrate here, starting with a page from the 150 Series in the PIEDMONT set......

155 subjects (and MAGIE error)

I don't have my cards physically arranged by the five series, but my T206 checklist (printed from Scott Reader's work on the set) is formatted that way, so I have become accustomed to thinking of the cards by series, and can typically identify what card belongs to what series. I by no way pretend to have anywhere as deep of knowledge of the set as many members of this forum, but my choice of checklist at least has helped me get a basic grasp of the print groups, and has made me a better T206 person.

Default 460-only Series

The cards in the 460-only series were issued in late 1910 thru early 1911 (depending on which tobacco adv. backs were printed on them).
The AMERICAN BEAUTY 460, LENOX, and UZIT backs were in the last print runs of these T206 cards (circa Feb 1911).

Illustrated here is a page from the 460-only Series in my SOVEREIGN set......

Default 350/460 Series

It appears evident that American Lithographic selected their last sheet of 350 series subjects for expansion into the 460 series. The timeline for this was during the SOVEREIGN
print run of this sheet (66 subjects) in which the SOVEREIGN 350 backs were printed using a lighter colored apple-green* ink. More info on this will be presented my next post.

Default Thanks

Ted,
Thank you to you, and anyone else that might contribute to this thread in the future, for giving your time and effort into educating those of us, like me, who just love sitting back and being educated about cards and our hobby. Its the part of the board I love. Of course I knew about the different series, but I never really knew much about the specifics and a different spin on collecting them. Thanks Ted.

Default Combined tobacco brands of the 350/460 series and 460-only series cards

The entire 460 series is the result of American Lithographic's (ALC) design intent to increase the T206 set by 110 subjects.
Series of 350 + 110 subjects = 460

After the 350 Series press runs were completed, ALC then re-printed (in large numbers) this sheet of 66 subjects (shown here). This group of
T206's represent the ALC's last press run of 350 Series cards.

Circa late 1910 to early 1911, ALC added 46 new subjects to the above 66 subjects. This design actually resulted in a total of 109 subjects **.

v.................................... Six super-prints ....................................v

** Of these 66 subjects, 3 were not printed with 460 series backs since their Major League careers ended before the issue of the 350/460 series.
They are......

ML career ends

June 1910......Joe Doyle
May 1910.......Simon Nicholls
Aug 1910.......Bob Rhoades

A picture is worth 1000 words, so here are the 22 tobacco advertisement backs that are available on the T206 Subjects in the 350/460 series....
