Default Ty Cobb Tobacco Tin

Just picked this up at a local auction. 99.99% sure it is a reproduction but the price was right and it makes a nice display piece. It has a paper label which was clue #1 that it isn't the real thing.

Looking for feedback on what it might be:
a) the real thing (as if!)
b) an authentic reproduction (if so is it new or vintage repro)
c) somebody's home job

Thanks for looking!

Ray

Just looks like a regular ole reproduction to me. The image and printing on the label are too grainy to be real, imo. Plus, as you said, the label is paper and on a real one I believe it would be litho on the tin, but I have never held one so am not positive.

You're right Leon... not a paper label on the real one. Looks like a good 'ole Prince Albert with a paper label.

Default Cobb Tin

Do you have Prince Albert in a can? No, but I have Ty Cobb in a Prince Albert can!

Default it's without question a fake

and based on the configuration of the can itself I'd say Prince Albert it is..........The OP or seller hasn't shown the the bottom - most all have the brand name there. The original is litho on tin................

Is your refrigerator running? insert punchline.
