Hi guys!

Very Nice ! I know very little about them but always wanted to collect them. I know there are some that are not original and where made a few years back…also I know the name tags on the original ones are hard to find.

another collector on this site deals in them occasionally. last time he was dealing, he stated that the perforated tear away front boxes were harder to find.

Stunning find. They are beautiful, I know a little bit, but the expert who helped me, and I am sure will find you, is, Whitey. His knowledge is through the roof, a true expert.

That's a great pickup.

Some useful info is available here. Whiteymet is the best expert for all things Hartland.

The statues with the lowest production runs are the rarest. Groat and Colavito are the hardest to find. But generally I've found those where the player is in a twisted pose can suffer from separation at the seams. I found it harder to find a good Colavito than Groat.

Heres some quick production stats for you:

Production Runs
Statue Production Dates Number Produced
Hank Aaron Statue 1958-60 150,000
Luis Aparicio Statue 1960-63 100,000
Ernie Banks Statue 1960-63 100,000
Yogi Berra Statue 1960-63 150,000
Rocky Colavito Statue 1960-63 10,000
Don Drysdale Statue 1960-63 50,000
Nellie Fox Statue 1960-63 100,000
Dick Groat Statue 1960-63 5,000
Harmon Killebrew Statue 1960-63 50,000
Mickey Mantle Statue 1958-60 150,000
Roger Maris Statue 1960-63 100,000 Maris was not sold with a tag
Ed Mathews Statue 1958-60 150,000
Willie Mays Statue 1960-63 100,000
Stan Musial Statue 1960-63 100,000
Babe Ruth Statue 1958-60 150,000
Duke Snider Statue 1960-63 50,000
Warren Spahn Statue 1958-60 100,000
Ted Williams Statue 1960-63 150,000
Bat Boy Statue 1960-63 5-10,000 There was no box for the Bat Boy (it came in bubble wrap)
Minor Lgr White Base 1960-63 5,000

I'm just getting on a flight. I can share more details soon.

You could also check out https://hartlandstatues.com/history/ for more info.

Gorgeous pieces...but Maris didn't play on the Yankees in 1958. Were they released at different times/series?

I guess that post above answered that!

Correct. 5 statues were issued in 1958 and the rest iwere released n 1960. As a general rule, The statues are easier to find than the boxes. The window boxes are harder to find than the standard boxes. The tags are the hardest to find.

Hi John:

Sorry for the late reply. I am at the National and am spending most of my time on the floor.

As mentioned the cello boxes are rarer than the baseball scene box. There are two tear away fronts,, either a batter like on your Maris or team logos like your Killebrew.

Maris was ONLY issued in the box you have.

I'll PM you so you can ask more questions.

Cheers,

Fred

Nice pickup, John! Instant collection.

I didn't know much about these, but definitely learned a lot from Mark (Net54 member perezfan) and Bart's YouTube channel, The Stuff of Greatness.

EP 19: HARTLAND STATUES - PART 2

I'm surprised by some of these numbers. It doesn't seem possible that there are as many of Luis Aparacio as Nellie Fox, as many of Roger Maris as Warren Spahn, and as many of Harmon Killebrew as Duke Snider.

Agree. I also would’ve thought the numbers for Williams and Spahn would be flipped… Williams with 100K and Spahn with $150K. You just see so many more Spahn statues.

Wonder if those production numbers have been verified. Even less believable are the numbers for the Dallas Hartlands. You see Cobb all the time, yet they say only 45 were ever made. “The Confrontation” lives up to its rarity, as does Feller (kind of). Anybody here know how many Fellers were actually produced?

Super interesting topic!

It's certainly possible. I'll try to dig out the website where I got the info from.

But I think its also possible that the Williams statues were handled more and less of them survived.

I collected the oriiginals in the 80’s. Groat was the last pickup. Collected the new ones in the 90’s. Never collected the boxes. Kept them for many years. When I moved to Florida all the Hartlands. Also collected the western figures too. Only 2 left Hartlands Cobb with box, and Southland Cobb.

Default Colovito Hartland Value

Authentic Hartland Colovito hang tags are hard to find, as are the boxes in nice condition. I would say closer to 1500-2000 for all three pieces.

I was going to say $1,400 - $1,600 for the rare trio.
