Default SGC grading question

Posted By: John S

I will be sending a few T206's to SGC for grading this week. One of the cards is about 1/32" short top to bottom. Under 40x the top or bottom edges do not appear to be trimmed. What has been the experience of other members with SGC and having cards rejected based on a size difference of this amount?

...but SGC will not grade undersized T206 cards, even if there is no evidence of trimming.

Edited to add that SGC will grade T206 cards that vary in size, no doubt, but there is some minimum threshold under which they will not and I have had one or two T206 cards, with no evidence of trimming, rejected on those grounds.

I've found SGC to be pretty good about grading untrimmed cards that may be a bit off of the catalog measurements.

Default SGC grading question

I have several short t206s graded by sgc that otherwise showed no sign of trimming. Cant say for sure how short they can be before sgc will refuse to grade, but I wouldnt want to be much more than 1/32 or so off.

Default SGC grading question

Not sure about T206's, but SGC recently graded some Harringtons I submitted that were all over the place on size. Two were rejected for not meeting minimum size requirement (not for trimming), so there is some standard but I'm not sure where the "cutoff" line is (no pun intended).
