I just read on ESPN that Mr. Auker died today. He was 95.

He wrote a book called "Sleeper Cars and Flannel Uniforms: A Lifetime of Memories from Striking out the Babe to Teeing It up with the President " which has some great stories from his career in baseball..I really enjoyed reading it.

I got to see him at the Babe Ruth symposium at Hofstra in 1995. And since today is my birthday (no gifts please) I will never forget his date of death. He was a good man.

there was an Eldon Auker a multi crillionaire ,living about
5 miles from me and if it is the same person, uh...it would have sorta sucked to know there was a pre-war mega-man livin
in my area that I could have benefited knowledge or cards by.

I live in Michigan, but this guy did retire in Florida
and was a real estate mogul and builder.
