Default Need help re: T206

I have this T 206 Schreck missing factory information and the print is in black. Is this real or possible error?

Also, I came across a T 206 Schmidt with Factory 649. Any information on this?

Player name and team name on a genuine T206 is brown, not black. The card you show in the first post is not real.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Best regards,

Eric

As you pointed out, no factory number, and Piedmont should be printed in blue ink.

The Throwing version does come with a Sweet Caporal Fact. 649 back.
The Portrait version does not.

I can't say more without seeing the card. Hope this helps.

Just out of curiosity, compare the size of the ad to another one. If this one is smaller, it's probably from an early 1960's reprint set that was actually done fairly well other than the black front printing.

You can see the reproduction dot pattern throughout the entire player image.

Does the back bottom look like it's been altered (erased, etc.) or is it just my eyes playing tricks on me?

I'm not sure that's what we are seeing - it would be more consistent, but some areas of the scan are smooth. Doesn't mean dots aren't there, but I think it's just a low-res bad scan. Fake regardless.

I can't be certain, but it appears whiter than the rest of the card, so maybe something was removed. Like the word REPRINT.

Yeah, that was my thought, too. Looks like a slightly different color than the rest of the back to me.
