I’ll take a low grade postcard all day from a rare series. Writing and a stamp adds to its allure IMO.

First, that Ruth is insane! Congrats, Jeff, and good luck on those monster BST sales!

Second, in that picture I’m a dinghy just out of frame.

Wife knows and supported when I put in the bids. Not happy when I won but said will be happy as long as I raise the funds.

So all good

And yes it is a Center piece of my shrinking collection (I am trying to consolidate and upgrade for quality over quantity)

Thanks everyone

I love the images on the Novelty Cutlery/Sepia Postcards and was happy to pick up the Wagner.

I realized Wagner prices are bonkers, but I pulled the trigger nonetheless.

Looks like other board members got some great cards too.

Net54 never ceases to amaze me.

Congrats Jeff, I was worried the doctor said you had less than 30 days to live when I saw BST this morning. Unbelievable pick up.

Nice Cutlery Cobb JC, agree the writing and stamp add character. And a great Cutlery Wagner addition Charles.

Those T206 backs are amazing as usual.

I was fortunate enough to check this one off my list last night at what I thought was a fair price.

Amazing pickups guys.

Jeff, congrats. Simply awesome.

JC- great combo.

Charles- great combo also. Personally, I think you stole that card.

Phil- a classic!

Aaron- best Cobb pose IMO; I think you did very well on that too

Aside from a couple cards posted on this thread, almost every other card I was seriously watching/considering went above what I estimated. Seems like the pre war card market is in decent shape

Ryan,

I appreciate that you think I got a deal on the Novelty Cutlery Wagner. Was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to chase it higher.

Great pickups everyone! To whoever won the 1924 Diaz Hoyt, well fought bidding battle until late. I still need a 1924 Diaz Hall-of-Famer if anyone has one!

Incredible Ruth RC Jeff!

Love the Novelty PC Cobb too

I am very happy with these 2 additions:

Ferguson Alexander and Fleischmann Evers, which is also a cropping and copyright line variation to mine

Yea, hard to believe by the image!

But in fairness he threw and led league with 389 inning that year! Won 33 games with a 1.55 era, .95 whip, 172 K's, 45 games started, 38 complete games!, 16 Shut outs! ... all black ink stats!

It's incredible the number of years he began his career with over 300 innings pitched, only to have streak interrupted by WW1!

Had he not been hurt in WW1, I don't think it's crazy to think he may have been top ranked pitcher in history, or at least top 3. His numbers through age 30 1917 season are mind boggling!

F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway are seated in a Parisian bistro having a drink (of course) during the 1920's.
Scott: You know Ernie the rich are different than you and me.
Ernest: Yeah, Scottie, they got more money.

Came away with the Billy Nattress Broad Leaf back, seemed like the BVG case gave it a bit of a discount, and also the Devore EPDG card. Missed out on the Drum cards, congrats to the new owners!
