just curious Tim - Did you win any of those bids? Did you get the Old Judge card for $4.25?

No....almost all of the material back then was owned by the seller/dealer.

Except in the bimonthly auctions in Card Collector’s Bulletin, for which Charles Bray charged a 15% buyer’s premium (raised from 10% in the early 1960s).

I did get a few prewar cards back in the 70s, but as a 15-year-old (in '74) I was basically playin' with no chips...
