I'll add an hypothetical addition to this. I do not know if these cards exist or not or how many are out there of each type: (The first one I know has not been discovered yet, the second is a pop report question)

Here is our 2 competitors for the day: Please tell the board which one you believe would have a greater price appreciation over the next year; next two years and next ten-twenty years (very short term; short term; long term)

Card 1: 1921 Fan Dave "Beauty Bancroft. Card currently unknown, minor Hall of Famer, would be currenty unique if said card exists.

Card 2: 1939 Play Ball Ted Williams PSA 9; BGS 9 or SGC 96. For purposes of this discussion we are assuming equality in grading companies in quality of grading.(please put personal opinions of graded cards or grading companies away here). I do not know current pop status.

So, which card do you think will appreciate more short and/or long term.

Regards
Rich

If you buy cards or any collectable for that matter, then it is fairly likely you have no intent on selling them. So when I buy cards or memorabilia i think of it being worth $0 because I will probably not sell it. I recommend investing in stocks or index funds and buying cards to fix your baseball craving.

I think the Bancroft. Assuming you didn't have to outbid Keith O. and a couple of other heavy hitters to own the card to begin with, I'll wager you wouldn't win it the second time it came to market.
