Nick - This is Just a suggestion to possibly save you some headache. On the first page of this thread, a 48 hour time frame is stated for payment. For clarity, and to avoid surprising anybody, I suggest you indicate there precisely when that time frame ends. Thanks again for all of your work on this! All the best, David

I know it stinks to miss out on something you really wanted to be part of. To the folks who did not get a chance, if somebody wants to PM me they can have one of my two slots, free of charge. Nick can still send me the cards and I will forward the slot on so that there is no added mailing. Just PM me and we can work out which slot is yours between us. First come first served. Update....spot filled.
Best,
Jeff

Please add me to the backup list. Was there an email sent out indicating this was live? Thought I remember reading that was going to happen.

Thanks.

We were going to send an email out after a few days to drum up support to sell the remaining slots. They sold out in about 12 hours so there was no need to send an email. I believe Nick said he had the cards and would be starting a thread the next day, but don't hold me to that. I have slept a few times. I am on the hunt for our next break. It will be single slots until everyone has a chance.....but I need to pick the right group again too or I will end up with a group or set I probably don't need and no one to play the game.

Already looking forward to the next set! Let's try a pre-war and up the ante on buy in. Could be super fun with more on the line.

I am very excited and thankful for what you are doing.
Might I suggest 56 topps for the future. 10% chance to land a HOF'er!

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but I've never used Ustream before. Is there anything, besides signing up, I need to do in advance? I signed in with Facebook and then searched for Net54 and nothing came up under "upcoming" .

I will be posting the link to the channel later tonight about 30 mins before starting the break.

I will do the random via random.org live and reveal each spot with the corresponding card. My guess is the break shouldn't take more than an hour.

Good luck to everyone and hope a lot of you can tune in.

One of my random slots happens to be #128. I think we should just put the set in order and go ahead and give me card #128.

That would give me Harvey Haddix and Vic Janowicz. Let's go ahead and do the draw...

Vern Stephens was an All-Star who put up some monster years with the Red Sox. His 159 RBI in 1949 are the 3rd highest in the last 75 years, topped only by Sosa's 160 in 2001 and Manny's 165 in 1999.

Johnny Lipon, I'm not familiar with

So Vern Stephens was good! Thanks for the info Chris. It seems to me that someone should have mentioned this to me over the last 45 years! Maybe if I followed the BoSox ....

Looks like someone snatched his '54 Topps PSA 6 for $8.55 so he's really not getting the deserved love.

I saw some members wanted me to post the list right away so I did that just to please those that wanted to save some time. Next time I will wait to post the list until after all the cards are revealed, just so everyone has to stay tuned to see what they got. I also know Ustream ads aren't great but Ustream has the only feature that lets you broadcast live and record at the same time.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are really taking them into account for next time.

I totally agree with whoever said that it's like opening a pack of cards... The adrenaline rush was awesome...

I was talking to my friend during the break... and I said to him (and I quote):
"I only hope I don't get a couple of old guys yelling."...

sure enough:

#65 Bob Swift - Coach
#176 Robert Keely - Coach

LOLOLOLOL!!!

If I didn't laugh, I'd cry.

Having said that... THANK YOU to NICK AND LEON!!!!
This was awesome and I'd LOVE to do it again!

Cheers!
-John

Thanks for setting this up Nick & Leon, already looking forward to contributing to a members windfall/rookie card draw next time!

I drew #125 Perkowski and 218 F. Marsh. If anyone is interested in these let me know a '54 set is not in my future.

Thanks Nick and Leon for this, never done it before and it was really fun! I think I want to hold on to #220 Ruben Gomez (though I'd be open to an offer), but am most definitely willing to part with #34 Jim Rivera (white sox) if someone is looking to complete a team or something like that. Please just pm me, hopefully we can work it out

Appreciate the opportunity to purchase/trade for the commons so far. Roofman, I'll keep an eye out for commons for you as well now that I know you're looking. Any particular grade?

I will post all the confirmed trades tomorrow at 9:00PM to make sure they are ok with everyone involved.

Hopefully I will be able to post the organized list sometime tonight. I've just been really busy. Packaging and shipping will happen on Thursday and hopefully everything will be sent out by Friday afternoon. If not they will have to go Monday because Saturday I will be extremely busy.

I'll trade my two coaching cards: The Bobs: Swift & Keely for ANY one NY Giants player... any takers? (Do I sound desperate? I do? I am? oh.)

Otherwise, ship those bad boys over to me and I'll try to pick up the finer points of coaching....
