Great stuff... Especially the Berg Display Case. What a beautiful and efficient solution to display your autographed cards! And you/your Dad did a wonderful job refurbishing it. Looks great, and makes me want, too.

Had this box made for my 1939 Ted Williams M&N a couple of days ago.
Doesn't look exactly as planned, but I guess it's decent enough.

My first post around here as well.

Thanks.
It looks fine on the outside, though they didn't put in much effort on the inside, at least for the money I paid.

Yes, boiling point temperatures until September, and anyone who wears trousers is an enemy of the state.

Default Cleveland Tickets and Memorabilia

I was just granted permission to do as i want with all my "stuff" in a room.
I have looked at all your pictures and am very impressed.
I am going to be putting my tickets, baseballs, jerseys, hats, etc. in this room.
Here are the first couple pictures of my progress.

A bit more modern and Minnesota themed.

Hall of Shame wall will soon be taken down and replaced with some new framed items I'm waiting on.

Just had a custom border done for my room...
I had autographs made of great Indians baseball players...
They go up just like FatHeads...
It is done in a dark blue and i submitted these to a company on ETSY...
If anyone wants their name let me know and they would be happy to help you...

Very cool Andy. The modern scribble of contemporary ball players probably wouldn't look as nice but those iconic signatures from Indians past look incredible. Adam

This has been an amazing thread. So many cool collections presented with aesthetic style. My library is not a "memorabilia room" per se. I call it the Fortress of Solitude. It's where I chill.

Andy, that sideline jacket wasn't from Fusco, I've had it for a few years.

They're getting hard to find

I'm sure this question has already been asked somewhere in this 49 pg thread, but I'm wondering how many still expose their cards/collections to the light by hanging them on the walls etc?

Not 100% sure, obviously, but wouldn't doing that eventually fade/stain the cards or other memorabilia?

Seen some nice high end/pricey stuff going through this thread briefly and in all honesty, it made me cringe!

My stuff is displayed in a climate controlled basement room. The door is nearly always closed, the lights are almost always off and there are no windows.

That's good, but I assume not all of these collections in this thread are looked after quite like your's?

Newbie question. Do the sleeves/jackets/cases help with UVB and UVA rays at all?

My main concern is natural light. My collection is in a room with windows, but I have good shades and blinds that keep out direct light, and I never open them. It can be a bit depressing not having natural light. Incandescent and flourescent bulbs emit some UV, but generally not a concern unless you have very valuable items susceptible to fading.

I have CFL bulbs in my room, and haven't noticed any issues in 20 years. I do keep the lights off when I am not in the room. If I collected autographs or high priced cards I might even think twice about CFL bulbs. If you have any worry, use LED, as they emit little to no UV.

Default UV Museum Glass

Most frame shops offer UV Museum Glass which blocks around 99% of UV radiation and is virtually invisible. It can be several times more expensive than regular glass, but for high value pieces, its worth it. An option for card display is a hinged shadow box with card ledges. Places like Hobby Lobby can make these for less than you think, particularly if you use a standard frame. If you already have a display, they can replace the glass for better UV protection.

Chris, your lighted displays are nothing short of amazing. What kind of bulbs do you use?

Default Lighted Displays

Thanks Joe! The lights in the display cases are dimmable LEDs. I'd say they are on for a total of about 4-6 hours a week in an otherwise completely dark room. They don't put off any heat and have low UV radiation. The lights in the shadow box displays are LED light tape strips. I installed them on the inside of the box behind the frame to give the uniforms sort of a halo effect. They look awesome when the room is dimly lit. I've been contemplating a future article for my site on how to build the shadow displays.

The 'W' friction jersey was attributed to Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania. The only provenance I have is from an auction house. W&J's colors are currently red and black, so I'm not 100% convinced that the provenance is correct!

The navy and yellow jersey is a 1924 University of Toledo jersey. Again, auction house provenance.
