Default Are Memorabilia Guys Smarter Than Card Guys?

This may not be truly a measure of intelligence but more of knowledge. I have this oddball Dave Fultz posted on the card side trying to find out what it is. No luck so far. Guys don't let me down, someone has to know what this is. Fultz played 1898 -1905. Blank back, light paper, 4.5 x 6 inches.

Uh oh the card guys thought it might be a notebook cover too. It is much thinner paper than my notebooks.

The earlier the notebook, the thinner the covers from my experience. As cardboard got cheaper the covers got thicker in the 1910's. Before that it was harder to print directly onto cardboard which is why book covers of the day have a thin paper lithograph glued to the front. Yours is obviously very early (1905ish) so I bet its still a notebook cover. Looks like low quality paper and graphics so most likely a cheaper notebook for kids and they wouldn't spend the money for thicker covers if that is the case. Just my opinion but id bet its a notebook cover.

That is says 'perforated' would point to it being from a notebook or pad of paper

I've seen a circa 1910 Ty Cobb notebook cover that was paper thin.

When I read "perforated" I think needlepoint, pre 1910 (Victorian era). May have been a needlepoint pattern, the cross-hatching in the fence, and the awkward "NY" may also be indicators. My mother was a seamstress, seemingly all of these items were on very thin paper stock... I used to get in trouble for handling patterns roughly. Just a thought.

If you don't think they're smarter just ask them?

This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

I don't think so because I'm a card guy and my wife keeps telling me..."Yeah Bob you're right, you're always right, you're the smartest guy in the world".
