Who is the player and what does the card entail? In other words does it have the outer frame AND the negative, or is it the plain photo? I have 1-2 and a few unopened ones too...

Probably $50-$75....In better times add $20 to it. Just my opinion...

Derringer was certainly a star player (*6 all star teams) but without the frame I would put the value at about $20-$35....The frames are very important, from my experience. These come up so rarely for sale my estimates are just guesses....but I do think they would be close...regards

I disagree a bit with Leon on pricing for this issue (I feel he is a bit low based on ones I have sold & seen sell), but he is not entirely out of line.

I paid $75 and $88 for 2 commons in vg last year......That is where I came up with my numbers. I would put them a tad higher in a better economy, as mentioned. And as I said, mine were guesses based on the few sales I have done....thanks for the feedback. It's always appreciated. besst regards

edited to add that if I saw one of these listed at $125-$150 (retail) it wouldn't shock me.

I don't see these often, and would side with Leon on this one as I sold one last year for below $100.

Leon & Dan, I think we are actually in agreement on these. I think the $50 price for a framed one is a bit low (especially if the frame is somewhat nice w/o rips or paper missing), I would say more like $80-120 with my low estimate being roughly your high estimate.

I do feel the ones sans frame are going to set you back more than $20 though. I will buy all you have at that price. This (I feel) is one of those sets that doesn't have the biggest price difference between a common and a star and I feel there is probably a $40-or-so "starting point" just due to the difficulty in finding them. If someone is looking for a particular player or team, etc. the likelyhood of being able to shop around or wait for the next one isn't really high, so there is a higher starting point, even thouh I don't believe HOFers are going to be 3-4X the common price that I just quoted even though that tends to be the conventional multiplier.

Yes, if that card has the frame around it and is in the correct category, it means you will not get it for $30. I would double or triple that number....but you have seen the responses yourself. take care

I would say that is a good summary Rhett.

If you got it for under $30 I (and others) missed it. It is a neat underappreciated issue.

Leon,

Did you count to a hundred when you developed it, or did you use a watch? happy.gif
