Default looking for Grandfather memorabilia (Bill Miller) 1936-1940(picutres ext.)

I have been looking for my any of my grandfathers ( Bill Francis Miller) baseball memorabilia. He palyed for the san antonio missons in 1936,1937,and again in 1939, in 1937 he got called up as a pitcher to the st. louis browns and pitched 1 game, after that in 37 he went to the toledo mud hens. In 1938 he played for the newly founded hollywood stars and finally ended career as far as i know with the springfield browns in 1940. He died in 1982 of lou gehrigs disease right before i was 1. I was told he maybe had a zeenut card and might soon even know the # of the card and wil post as soon as i get. If anyone can find anything from pictures to jerseys, really anything that has to do with him it woeld mean very much to me and my family, and would compinsate u greatly.

thank u very much, giacomo30

Per Horne there is a '38 Zeenut of Oscar Miller of the SF Seals. A miss is as good as a mile. He was in just 14 games with Hollywood so a card wouldn't have been likely nor even an appearance in a team photo, but it doesn't rule out there being a wirephoto, snapshot etc. Maybe one of our lurking PCL gurus will proffer something. Best bet I'm thinking would be any photos that might have been taken when he was with San Antonio, his longest stint. Don't know of any card issues pertinent to his minor league stops. He had a pretty rough day at the office against the White Sox in 1937 but he got to live the dream even if it was for only one tough afternoon. That's more than any of us cardboard jockeys can say.

Default Miss as good as a mile.

Well put, David! Also too bad he wasn't 25 years earlier - with that career, he'd have been a natural fit for T207.

Best of luck in your quest!

I stumbled across this picture of Bill Miller of the Browns in the book "Baseball Memories 1930-39 by Marc Okkonen. This is a very bad reproduction from a newspaper I suppose, but it is a picture of Bil Miller! Good luck in your search.
