Default 1935-36 Sawyer Biscuit cabinets

Posted By: Ben

I was hoping someone in the net 54 community could provide some pricing/scarcity info on the Sawyer Biscuit cabinets set. All I know about the Sawyer Biscuits so far is that there are 10 cards in the set (cubs and sox only), and that they could be had by redeeming a coupon along with a dime in local Chicago area bakeries.

Here's a scan of the one I own, any additional info about these would be very much appreciated.

With the expansion of the known checklist to 23 Cubs, 22 White Sox and broadcaster Bob Elson, the date of issue was re-pegged as 1938. "Commons" are listed at $600 NM, $300 EX and $180 VG in the 2005 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards.
