Default T206 Back Frequencies

Posted By: David Seaborn

I have seen several posts over the past year regarding various sets and their scarcity/rarity. I keep track of some of these things (don't ask me why)and would like to share a nugget of this with the forum. I have kept track of all the individual T206's sold that have been graded by SGC or PSA, including their backs. This, while not perfect, should give us a rough idea of how often we would expect to encounter a given back. Let's just take the commons to keep it simple. There are inherent flaws with this, but a sample size of over 1,700 cards gives us a rough idea. Here's how it would look for 2003.

1. Piedmont (350 or 350-460)- 1,101 cards
2. Sweet Caporal- 245 cards
3. Southern Leaguers (any back)- 108 cards
4. Sovereign- 85 cards
5. Piedmont(150)- 76 cards
6. Polar Bear- 25 cards
7. Old Mill (non-Southern Leaguers)- 23 cards
8. EPDG- 14 cards
9. Tolstoi- 11 cards
10. Cycle- 10 cards
(tie)American Beauty- 10 cards
(tie)Hindu- 10 cards
11.Broadleaf(350)- 4 cards
(tie)Carolina Brights- 4 cards
(tie)Lenox (Black)- 4 cards
14.Lenox (Brown)-3 cards
(tie)Drum- 3 cards
16.Broadleaf(460)- 2 cards
17. Uzit- 1 card
