Default Its the Common sets that are too common

Not that the rare sets are too rare. Heck almost all prewar cards are either t206, Goudey or PlayBalls, it seems. Unless Im figuring this wrong, that is.

Right now on eBay more than one third of the pre-1930 singles offered are t206s. Three quarters of all 1930-39 singles are a Goudey product, and essentially all of the later prewar are Playball.

Pre-1930 = 1573
t206 = 559

1930-9 singles = 769
Goudey = 569

1940-1949 = 342
Playball = 58
Leaf = 61
Bowman = 228

Ain't you tired of this crap? Apparently not everyone is.

Many people site the availability of T206 cards as one of the draws to collecting the set.

You can come home, open up ebay, and decide if there are any on-line that you can pick up tonight and get within the next few days. Much like baseball itself, it can be a day-to-day hobby. It is more interactive that way.

Try doing that with an E107 or even a Ramly.

That is all so terribly true. For example, I have been searching for any card of Bottomley from the 20s since I was a little boy (of about 50).

It must be nice to instead, only have to concern yourself with appearance, grade, and price.

Ok, the following is for the person with too much time on their hands...

Make a list of every T206 on ebay and determine what percentage of the set is available at one time. I'm guessing the Southern Leaguers would be a little tough but right now there's a whole batch of them up for sale in one offering.
