Default 1906 Sporting Life Detroit Postcard

I was hoping this might fly under the radar. It didn't. Congrats to the winner...

I would say the price was fair for the condition that it was in. The seller also had the Boston (AL) postcard w/Cy Young as well. Of course, the Cobb rookie year was the highlight of the pair......

"Coming Champs 1908. Mark my word."

Spoken like a true fan.
FWIW they lost to the Cubs again in 1908.

I actually think this went for a pretty high price; the card is as beat up as one can be -- but it is arguably the earliest Cobb card and still very rare.

Under-bidder.

Thought the price was reasonable, I don't value condition much though.

I won it. It certainly has its condition problems, but collectors seem to be a little more lenient with postcards. AFAIK it is Cobb's first "card" and from my count, only a half dozen or so are out there.
