Just purchased this team stereoview and would like to share it on the board.






I know it's difficult and almost impossible to ID players or teams, but would like to read your comments on this one.

No photographer mark on front or back.

Second player standing left to right, looks a lot like Bob Ferguson.

Cool item! I've thumbed through thousands of these without ever finding a baseball picture, NICE TO KNOW THEY EXIST. The only ones I ever find pertain to Niagra Falls or Holy landmarks in Israel.
What are the initials on the shirt? Is that OP?
Where did you find it?

Jaime, attractive example with the nice trees backdrop and bib uniforms. While baseball stereoviews don't get much due, this is one of the nicer one's I've seen

I guess the letters are "M P"

Mark Rucker's collection auction from 1995 had almost 30 baseball related stereoviews, which I think was the largest hoard of it's kind.

I think it's late 1860's to early 1870's by looking at the uniforms, but just a guess.

Is there a way to find a Robert "Bob" Ferguson close picture from the Hartford Dark Blues carte de visite, just to try matching his face to the one in my picture.

A picture of the Blue Stocking carte is shown in Mark Rucker's soft cover book on cartes. Hal has this carte so a scan of it may be on the PSA HOF registry web site. Good luck---great item!

Barry Sloate think it's late 1860's and that the letters could be " O D ".

O.D could be Oregon Drinkers...

There goes my first choice of "M P" down the drain...

If Barry thinks that, he's probably right.

At least he hadn't see this stereoview before (That was hard to believe... )
