Default New purchase and a few questions...

I just purchased an item that is going to be the cornerstone of my collection for a long time. I'm very happy about it, but at the same time I have no idea how to preserve it...

Here is the item...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Currently I have a 500lb gun safe that I keep everything in...Will that be ok?

The ball came in a cube (which I don't know if it is UV resistant)...

Will the ball get too hot or cold in the safe?

My house stays about 73-75 degrees throughout the year...

Any suggestions would be very helpful...

Furthermore, as you can see it has been certified by PSA/DNA as Ruth plus 16 other signatures..Is there anyway to figure out the signatures that are not completely legible? I can make out Hoyt, Pipp, Whitt, McNally, Meusel, Ward, Schang, and Dugan....

I've noticed that JSA often gives names with there certificates...Could they possibly be able to figure out the other signatures (using a different light or other method..)..

Thanks
Travis

I also have a 500lb gun safe I use to store cash. I can't put any of my collectibles in it because it is stuffed full of cash. Seriously, I have noticed my cash gets sort of damp if locked in there for some time so I haven't put any collectibles in there. I am more worried about humidity level? than temperature. I guess I can't answer your question. Sorry.

Simple tips Travis:
Keep your ball away from sunlight and UV light as well as humidity. Handle it as infrequently as possible, and when you do, wear gloves or hold it only along the seams as the oil in your hands can cause toning (brown spots) to the leather of the ball. Your ball cube is a suitable way to store it.
I hope this helps!
