Default Doble Aguila y Sport Venezuelan ID? 1930s?

I have searched quite a bit (at least an hour) on the internet and can't seem to find exactly what year these are or even pictures of more of them. Obviously they are from the set, Doble Aguila y Sport, and I think they are Venezuelan, but I can't pinpoint a year. They were bought as a 1935 series. Has anyone seen these or do ya'll have any you can show? I am mainly trying to nail down a year as that is how I list things on my website, after classification of course. Thanks in advance

Leon,

I believe they were issued in 1931. At least that's the date I have commonly seen associated with them. Ryan could probably shed more light on the issue.

Thanks Kenny. Believe me, every google search had Ryan's (hey Ryan) site very high or first in the results. I don't think there is a picture on there though....and I am just curious if that date on the site might be a best guesstimate? Hopefully one of our Cuban collectors will know more. take care

Leon:

A large group of them were issued in 1931-32 but yours are different. I know that there were also a couple of more years, maybe 1933, 1934, 1935........again Ryan C. would know best.

The company is Venezuelan and issued a black bordered mega-series in 1931-32 for sport and nonsport subjects. I've not seen the ones you have there.

Very interesting

Like Adam pointed out, Ive only seen the black border cards before. I had never seen Leon's white border ones before today. But I dont know much on the set(s) besides seeing a large group of the black ones a few weeks back. Id only seen a couple example before that.

some (or all) of the info youre seeing on the Internet may be for the black border set ???

Here is an image of one of at least two Dihigo cards from the black border set (not mine, I wish) (Other known Dihigo is #255 per OLD CARDBOARD site)

Another question, there was also 2 different backs (brands) for the black border cards... (these were sold on eBay recently by same seller in same group) The scarcer one of the 2 seems to be the "E. Quintana & Ca." back, but Ive only seen a couple dozen of these cards total.
also note that one has 1931 (w/L.Aparicio Sr.) the other 1932

Don't know much about the white borders that you got Leon.

Below is a black border version that I won from the recent lot that was on Ebay. Does anyone know of a list of players that are on the cards? Some of them list the players name on the back, others don't.

Tom:

Don't know a list of all the players but do know that Dihigo is the only HOF'er.
