Default Did I Pay Too Much? But I Like It!

I will start by saying I don't collect postcards but I really wanted this when I saw it on eBay. I know the card itself has some value but I thought the message(s) written on it makes this a piece of baseball history. Plus I saved $40 by using the discount code another forum member posted.

The message was written October 25, 1908.

The message on the front says:

Dear Bill,

The most clever & best 2nd baseman in the business. Not even barring Lajoie.

Willie

He is the kid that made the extra game to be played off.

The message on the back says:

Dear Bill,

Clever head Evers had when he started the play that put Merkle of N.Y. out and made it necessary to play the extra game at the end of the season which we won 4-3.

Willie

Great pickup, much more interesting than the vast majority of Evers cards out there. I don't think you overpaid at all.
