Default Need help with New York Base Ball Club item

Posted By: Adam J. Baxter

Greetings all,
I was wondering if anyone on the forum could offer me some assistance on an item I won recently on eBay? It's a New York Base Ball Club National League Rain Check ticket stub. The price listed on the front of the tivcket is 1.10 (1.00 + .10 tax. There is a fascimile signature from the club president on the bottom, however I can't quite make out the name. I thought the ticket looked nice, the price was right and the collector in me just couldn't pass it up. I figure that the ticket is for the New York Giants and I'm fairly certain that it's pre-WWII, the problem I'm having is the approximate year that the ticket was issued. I'm not sure if it's from right before WWII or from closer to 1900. This is the first vintage ticket or ticket stub I've ever purchased, so I'm not quite familar with area of baseball memrobilia. I don't have a scan, but I'll post the ebay link below for anyone who wants to view it. Any help on dating this ticket would be extremely appreciated!

Thanks,
Adam

If the signature at the bottom of the ticket says Charles Stoneham, Stonehamd was President from 1919-36. After his death, his son, Horace, was President from 1936-1970.
